Hi and welcome to my blog!
After being in the workforce for 20 years, in 2012 I suddenly found myself out of a job. My kids were 8 and 10 at the time and so I became a new stay at home mom (.com). Not a new mother, mind you, just new to staying at home with my kids.
When I was a working mother, I always wondered what stay at home moms did all day. Then I suddenly became one of “them” and started this blog as a way to unravel the mystery. I’ve since found and lost jobs again, but I keep the blog going. It’s a creative outlet and enjoyable pastime for me. And it offers witty insights and a laugh or two for you.
But it’s not all about you. Back to me…
Now my kids are teenagers and in highschool. The struggle is real, people! So I use this blog as a way to unravel a DIFFERENT mystery: the mystery of the American teenager.
Hold on to your hats, folks. The ride gets pretty wild…and pretty funny. So, again, welcome. Please enjoy.
PS – my daughter and son have really great names, but for the purposes of this blog, I refer to them as Sissy and Sonny (respectively). I felt the need to explain so you didn’t think I was a TOTAL weirdo and really named my kids Sissy and Sonny. Also, I feel it’s important to protect the guilty, so there’s that too!
Love the blog! Great idea and seriously relax and enjoy not working. It is a luxury not a curse. You just need to stop putting so much pressure on yourself to be superwoman. You have been there done that, now just enjoy life for a while. It takes just as much skill to slow down and enjoy yourself as it does to fly mach 7 with your hair on fire.
Miss you! K
