It’s the morning AFTER\u00a0Sonny’s 9th birthday slumber party.\u00a0 And for some reason that old\u00a0\u00a0Stephen Sondheim\/Judy Collins\u00a0song is in my head:<\/p>\n

Ok, ok.\u00a0 Sorry about that.\u00a0 I’m\u00a0a little short on sleep and therefore long on cranky.\u00a0 So cranky in fact that I’m\u00a0100% sure all of the slumber party boys will go home and report that Sonny’s mom is the MEANEST mom.\u00a0 Ever!\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/div>\n

Which is fine.\u00a0 I own it.\u00a0 I recognize that at some point in the evening, I decided to go the “instill fear” route.\u00a0\u00a0And\u00a0the\u00a0good cop\/bad cop routine devolved into all bad\u00a0cop, all the time –\u00a0with the good cop\u00a0bound and gagged and shoved in the back of the closet, struggling futilely against its duct-tape bonds.<\/div>\n

Whatever.\u00a0 As long as we all know where we stand.\u00a0 And don’t make me come down there AGAIN to tell you to go to bed.\u00a0 ‘Cause if I do,\u00a0I’m gonna call all your mothers to come get you AND\u00a0make you start walking home!!!!<\/div>\n
