{"id":625,"date":"2013-01-28T16:09:32","date_gmt":"2013-01-28T23:09:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newstayathomemom.com\/?p=625"},"modified":"2013-01-28T16:09:32","modified_gmt":"2013-01-28T23:09:32","slug":"third-grade-spelling-words","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newstayathomemom.com\/?p=625","title":{"rendered":"Third grade spelling words"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My son and I have learned through (very hard) trial and (tearful) error that it&#8217;s important to read through ALL the spelling words on the list the first day we get them.\u00a0\u00a0It makes the homework that follows (as well as the Friday spelling test) a million times easier.<\/p>\n<p>And this way, we can figure out up front\u00a0if there is any confusion over word pronunciation and\/or definition.<\/p>\n<p>So today when we got home after dropping\u00a0the carpool kids off, and after my kids ate their\u00a0hefty after-school snack (and by hefty I mean a full meal.\u00a0 Hey!\u00a0 They&#8217;re hungry!!\u00a0\u00a0Why not just feed them a balanced\u00a0meal instead of them making a meal out of a bunch of snacks?!?\u00a0\u00a0I then follow up with a bowl of cereal before bed if anyone&#8217;s hungry at that time), my son and I reviewed his spelling words for the week.<\/p>\n<p>Below\u00a0are my three favorite from this week&#8217;s list that I thought I&#8217;d share so you can also join in on the fun (when you&#8217;re a stay at home mom, I&#8217;m sorry to say that this sort of thing becomes &#8220;fun.&#8221;\u00a0 You get your kicks where you can):<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Autumn (hard to figure out what this word actually is since my son initially pronounced it oo-too-men-nen)<\/li>\n<li>bawls (bow-wels)<\/li>\n<li>coughing (co-hing)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>And there ya have it, Folks!\u00a0 Good times brought to you courtesy of the 3rd grade spelling list!!\u00a0 Thank you and goodnight!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My son and I have learned through (very hard) trial and (tearful) error that it&#8217;s important to read through ALL the spelling words on the list the first day we get them.\u00a0\u00a0It makes the homework that follows (as well as the Friday spelling test) a million times easier.
