No.\u00a0 I’m not joking.\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 Did it seem like I was?!\u00a0 How do you<\/em> keep YOUR<\/em> spices (if not in strict alphabetical order)??<\/p>\n The old (hut-hum<\/em>…polite throat clearing), that is to say “former” working-woman me would have kept them in the cupboard above the stove just all thrown in there and jumbled.\u00a0 Which meant that I\u00a0was constantly buying more<\/em>\u00a0marjoram.\u00a0 Now the new stay at home mom me has the spices alphabetized and organized on those two-tiered, lazy-susans.\u00a0 All spices are available at the twirl of the wrist (just don’t get giddy from alphabetization and twirl too hard because that sends some of the lighter containers flying towards the back where they will languish in anonymity for the rest of their lives).<\/p>\n Granted my marjoram section is three containers deep but\u00a0I don’t have to buy any more until 2029, so I’m\u00a0saving money.<\/p>\n Organized spices means I know what spices I have at-a-glance.\u00a0 As a result?\u00a0 Less of the\u00a0one-income\u00a0goes to buying spices unnecessarily.\u00a0 Brilliant!<\/p>\n This is one of the many fun, time-consuming ways we stay at homers save money.\u00a0 We organize and thus economize on our spices.\u00a0 Hopefully this neat little trick will save me from ever having to get a job again.<\/p>\n Like I said…brilliant!\u00a0 Right?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" My husband’s been in the spices again.\u00a0 You know how I know?\u00a0 I found “dill” situated between “orange peel” and “oregano.”\u00a0 Dead giveaway.\u00a0 “D” spices don’t belong in the “O” spice section.
