No, not the 30% off coupon that still netted us $30 in Kohl\u2019s cash plus an additional $10 in Yes2You Rewards. Though that\u2019s all pretty suh-weet!<\/em><\/p>\n Instead it was the darling college gal at the checkout who rang up Sonny\u2019s back to school threads.<\/p>\n You see, we struggled all summer long trying to get Sonny to read A Separate Peace<\/em> and to do his geometry math assignment in plenty of time so that he wasn\u2019t squeezing all the work into \u2013 and therefore ruining \u2013 Sonny\u2019s side-eyeing me the whole time the college gal is monologuing with a look that said, \u201cHow are you doing this?! How are you making YOUR words come out of HER mouth?? Do you somehow KNOW her? Did you arrange this before we even GOT here?! Am I being punked into doing my summer assignments by my own MOTHER\u00a0and a Kohl\u2019s cashier??\u201d<\/p>\n No, I\u2019ve never seen this gal before in my life. But she is truly a blessing from Heaven. It was like a back to school Chicken Soup for the Soul moment\u00a0since she eventually had Sonny smiling, nodding and agreeing that yes, indeed, doing summer homework ASAP made the most sense in the world.<\/p>\n And wouldn\u2019t you know? Sonny went right home and plowed through his math and reading and wrapped up both with a full week of summer to go!\u00a0 Phew!<\/em><\/p>\n Kohl\u2019s employs angels in disguise, yo! You never, EVER wait until the last minute to do your summer assignments!! Doesn\u2019t it just make you almost sick to your stomach having that hanging over your head?! Like, you\u2019ll be at the pool with your friends and then you\u2019ll suddenly remember your summer assignments and it just ruins the whole vibe, right??! I mean, even in college, when I get an assignment that\u2019s not due until the end of the semester, I still have to start working on it right away because NOT working on it is\u00a0way\u00a0too stressful!\u201d<\/p>\n
