In honor of St. Patrick\u2019s Day 2017, let me tell you about our own\u00a0encounter with\u2026The Luck O\u2019 the Irish.<\/p>\n
We recently took\u00a0a trip to Ireland. On Aer Lingus.\u00a0 And sat behind literal Irish twins who were about a year old.\u00a0 We had those four seats in the middle of the plane, with\u00a0Sonny and Sissy\u00a0in the middle of the middle and\u00a0an extra gap between them caused by the doubled up arm rests.<\/p>\n
The reason this gap is important will be revealed in a sec.\u00a0 Hang on to yer everlovin\u2019 hats!<\/em><\/p>\n About an hour into the flight, the twins are peeking back at Sissy and Sonny.\u00a0\u00a0So cute.\u00a0 Playing peek-a-boo.\u00a0 Rosy cheeked and dimpled.\u00a0 Golden curls.\u00a0 When ALLOFASUDDEN!!!\u00a0 Vomit comes shooting out of the extra wide gap in the seat in front of us.<\/p>\n Gaah!\u00a0 Gaaaaaaah!!!!\u00a0 GAAAAAAAH!!!!<\/p>\n It was like that Saturday Night Live skit where someone has a\u00a0hose in their sleeve and holds it strategically beside their mouth. Stuff was coming out of one of those little Irish pieholes in such quantities it was not humanly possible.<\/p>\n And Sissy and Sonny, leaning in to the adorable game of peek a boo (one for me! one for you!!), get totally sprayed. Until it was ALL over them AND their backpacks (filled with snacks, games and even winter coats) which they had dutifully placed underneath the seats in front of them like good Aer Lingus citizens.<\/p>\n I almost started vomiting my own self it was so awful \u2013 and that was only hour one, ONE, of a SEVEN HOUR flight. Guh.\u00a0 Guh.<\/p>\n B\u2019gosh and begorrah, my friends! That is what’s\u00a0known as the Luck O\u2019 the Irish.\u00a0 Except they spelled \u2018luck\u2019 wrong.\u00a0 It should\u2019ve been spelled p-u-k-e instead.\u00a0 The Puke O\u2019 The Irish.<\/p>\n Yep. That\u2019s about right.<\/p>\n Sl\u00e1inte!<\/p>\n P.S. Happy Birthday, Mom!
