{"id":4424,"date":"2016-04-14T16:48:03","date_gmt":"2016-04-14T22:48:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newstayathomemom.com\/?p=4424"},"modified":"2016-04-14T16:48:03","modified_gmt":"2016-04-14T22:48:03","slug":"how-an-american-teen-speaks-french","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newstayathomemom.com\/?p=4424","title":{"rendered":"How An American Teen Speaks French"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I just flew in from Denver and boy, are my arms tired!<\/p>\n<p>Guck, guck, guck. \u00a0On our flight last night to Virginia, Sissy got stuck behind the drink cart with a French guy.<\/p>\n<p>(Uh, ok. \u00a0That whole description made me feel super yucky for a sec.)<\/p>\n<p><em>But how did you know he was French?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Sissy: Because he said, &#8220;Something&#8230;something&#8230;Francais.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><em>He was probably asking you if you speak French. \u00a0So what did you say?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Sissy: I said, &#8220;Uh-huh,&#8221; and then nodded and smiled.<\/p>\n<p>[Here she smiled wide for me in the re-telling and revealed her pink American teen braces. \u00a0Yes, pink. \u00a0It&#8217;s a thing they do with braces now that we&#8217;re from the future. \u00a0Royal blue headgear is from the past. \u00a0Trust me, I know this.]<\/p>\n<p><em>And then what happened?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Sissy: He talked some more French.<\/p>\n<p><em>Did you respond to what he was saying?!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Sissy: \u00a0I said, &#8220;Cool! \u00a0Cool!&#8221; then the cart got done so I waved bye and walked away.<\/p>\n<p><em>And that? \u00a0Is how an American teen (who doesn&#8217;t actually speak French) speaks French.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I just flew in from Denver and boy, are my arms tired!
