Did you get your hair cut?<\/p>\n<p><em>A. \u00a0No, I got them all cut. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>This is what my geometry teacher in highschool used to say when we asked him if he just had a haircut.\u00a0 This then necessitated a\u00a0<em>hardy, har, har<\/em> followed by an inordinate amount conversation about our own hairstyles until the geometry teacher was forced to whip chalkboard erasers at&#8230;those people with the best hairstyles. \u00a0Or&#8230;at those people who may have been talking too much ABOUT their hairstyles.<\/p>\n<p><em>I think I may have just discovered why I hate geometric proofs.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Where I was really going with all this is that my sisters and I recently had a conversation about the haircuts our mother used to give us.\u00a0\u00a0All I\u2019ll say here about those haircuts is that they involved a bowl and scotch tape and people thought I was a boy up until last year.<\/p>\n<p>But that conversation got me\u00a0thinking about them-there bowl cuts and how they must\u2019ve been pretty cheap, what with the cost of bowls and tape being almost nil.\u00a0 And&#8230;hey, I need a cheap haircut!\u00a0 However, since I live in opposite world, I asked my DAUGHTER to cut my hair (and to please leave out the tape and bowl part).<\/p>\n<p>For about\u00a0ten minutes leading up to the event, we discussed how much to take off. \u00a0<em>Not much! \u00a0Just to there!!<\/em> [Said the pretty lady in the mirror demonstrating the slim inch of hair she wanted off.]\u00a0 Sissy confirmed time and time again: <em>Yeah, yeah, just about an inch. \u00a0An inch. \u00a0Only to take off the frazzled ends. \u00a0Just an inch. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>Trustingly, I leaned back in the kitchen chair so that my long and beautiful locks could flow unencumbered down my back. \u00a0When I heard <em>snip, snip<\/em> I thought Sissy was just warming up the scissors, getting\u2019 the feel of her tools and such.\u00a0 But then Sonny walked into the room and said, &#8220;Oh my GOSH, Sissy!\u00a0What are you DOING?! \u00a0Mom, she just cut off SO\u00a0MUCH of your hair!!!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><em>What?? \u00a0<strong>WHAT?!?\u00a0 <\/strong><\/em> I jumped out of the seat and looked down at the floor.\u00a0 There was a good THREE INCHES of hair pooled there while\u00a0Sissy just stood by,\u00a0innocently holding the weapon of mass destruction in her hand.<\/p>\n<p><em>I thought we agreed: ONE INCH!!! <\/em><\/p>\n<p>Her reply? \u00a0&#8220;Naw, it all had to come off.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Alrighty then, let that be a life lesson to ya: when you ask the girl who\u2019s all in, full out in everything she does, to cut your hair just an inch?\u00a0 She cuts\u00a0them ALL.\u00a0 THREE inches.<\/p>\n<p>I didn&#8217;t tip her.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Q.
