Hey Mazda.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Just an opportunity for improvement I wanted to mention.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>In your world, you might call it a design flaw, but I like to remain upbeat about things.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>You know me, funny, pretty, always on the lookout for a chance to make things better \u2013 looking for opportunities to improve things, not getting\u2019 mired in the negative\u2026<\/span><\/em>\u00a0 <\/span>But this has less to do with me and more to do with the \u201cEmpty Gas Tank\u201d notification coming from the dashboard of my husband\u2019s car.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Said notification, being down by my left knee, IS NOT HELPFUL!!!!<\/span><\/p>\n

I never notice it down there.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Because it\u2019s covered up by my knee.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

As a result, when I was driving the kids home from school the other day, the car completely conked out in the middle of an intersection.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>I lost the power steering, forward motion, EVERYTHING!<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>So I had to coast across two lanes of traffic and then do hand-over-hand manual labor to turn down some random side street.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>We rolled to a stop while I flipped my <\/span>funny, pretty, upbeat<\/span><\/span> lid thinking the transmission had bottomed out. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>At which point, my 12-year-old daughter leaned over from the front passenger\u2019s seat and announced, \u201cYou\u2019re out of gas.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I am?!?<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>How did you know that??<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>HOW DID YOU KNOW THAT???<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>More importantly, <\/span>HOW DID I <\/span>NOT<\/span><\/span> KNOW THAT?!??!!<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cLook, right there.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Down by your left knee.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>It says you have no gas left.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>The car acted the exact same way when Dad ran out of gas.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Aha!<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>AHA!!!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

So it\u2019s not just me.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>It\u2019s others as well.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>This has \u201cCurrent Owner Focus Group\u201d written all over it, Mazda.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>I\u2019m happy to participate in that (as is my husband, I\u2019ll sign him up, he loves it when I sign him up for stuff.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Hi, Honey!<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Remember that one time when I signed you up for the school field trip nature hike thingie?!<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>And that\u00a0girl in your group got some sort of hive-y reaction to nature?!<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Gosh, so fun, right??<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span><\/em>You\u2019re welcome<\/em>.).<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>But for now, we\u2019ll just call this whole thing \u201ccustomer feedback.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Your Product Managers will want to build said feedback into your car \u201cfutures.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
