I got the new IKEA catalogue today.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>And even though the <\/span><\/span>unfinished stair project<\/span><\/a> has been calling my name, I\u2019ve been pouring over this thing like nobody\u2019s bizzzz.<\/span><\/p>\n

This thing is GREAT!\u00a0 And it makes me want to move on to my NEXT project which has yet to be determined.\u00a0\u00a0I love all of the gadgety, streamlined, organized-to-within-an-inch-of-their-life items they offer for sale in this\u00a0book.<\/span><\/p>\n

But mostly, page after page, it\u00a0makes me start to wonder how Swedes live.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Do they all have tiny apartments with twenty other people living in them?<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>The whole \u201cGet some privacy –\u00a0and a bedroom – just by using curtains” thing is a little concerning.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

And there\u2019s even this one picture of four people in a bathroom with the quote, \u201cSometimes the bathroom is just for you.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Sometimes it\u2019s for everyone.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Uhhhhh\u2026no, in my country, the bathroom is always just for me.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

So \u2013 on second thought \u2013 you can keep your cramped rooms and I\u2019ll just look at the nice pictures and dream of traveling briefly to Sweden during a trip.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Maybe at Christmas-time.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>When \u201ccramped\u201d would be less cramped and more cozy.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>And everything I\u2019ve ever crocheted would fit right in.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Also, I might\u00a0get to wear a wreath in my hair with live candles on it.\u00a0 While I serve\u00a0gingersnaps to everyone.\u00a0 And then me and the twenty other people in my room will\u00a0eat\u00a0<\/span>meatballs and drink\u00a0glogg*.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Yep\u2026that\u2019s a waaaaay better idea.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Thanks, IKEA! <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

*Does anyone else think the word “glogg” sounds like if you drink enough of it, glogging noises will start\u00a0coming out of your mouth along with already-chewed Swedish meatballs??\u00a0 Yeah, me too.\u00a0 It’s a bad name.\u00a0 They should change it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
