I was running on the treadmill, reading a book for book club on my Nook (font size HUGE helps with the reading while your noggin\u2019 is a-bob, bob, bobbin\u2019 along) and watching the Today Show.\u00a0 The Jersey Girl who went to grad school full-time while working full-time brings the same amount of dedication to her Home Mom exercise routine.\u00a0 Whoop, whoop!\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Now, I typically don\u2019t watch the Today Show due to all of the nonsensical nattering (preferring instead to catch up on what all the Housewives-across-the-land are doing), but for some reason I had the t.v. tuned to the Today Show\u00a0Monday\u2026when Maria Shriver, complete with glorious hair and aggressive jawbone, pops up.\u00a0 She\u2019s got a thing going about the state of women today called \u201cDoing It All.\u201d (#doingitall) <\/span><\/p>\n

Come on!\u00a0 Seriously?!?\u00a0 Are we STILL discussing this?\u00a0 After all this time<\/em>???<\/span><\/p>\n

She\u2019s playing a video clip of women giving their opinion about how hard it is to \u201cdo it all.\u201d\u00a0 Some truly annoying woman\u00a0is going on and on about how hard it is, \u201cGetting ready for school, school conferences, grocery shopping\u2026\u201d (Yeah.\u00a0 Yeah.\u00a0 Super hard \u2018cause the rest of us don\u2019t do that too??)\u00a0 And then she goes on to say, \u201cWhen you work full-time as a mother, you don\u2019t get to give away your motherhood responsibilities to anyone else.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Ok.\u00a0 And now?\u00a0 Now I\u2019m PISSED OFF!!!\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This is EXACTLY why I can\u2019t stand these women.\u00a0 They think THEY have it so hard, and are so self-righteous in their stay-at-home-momness.\u00a0 And so derogatory to anyone not on that same path.\u00a0 And while I may SEEM like a stay-at-home-mom right now due to a trick of the light, in my heart I suppose I\u2019m a working mother.\u00a0 Well\u2026AND a full-time mother.\u00a0 And that\u2019s why this nonsense gets me so p.o.\u2019d.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t get to give away your motherhood responsibilities to anyone else.\u201d\u00a0 Take it back, Girlfriend.\u00a0 \u2018Cause if you don\u2019t, I will meet you in the parking lot.\u00a0 There\u2019s no \u201cgetting\u201d to \u201cgive away\u201d your motherhood responsibilities when you work full-time!\u00a0 I don\u2019t know why you think there is.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Because until you\u2019ve pumped breast milk for your 3 month old during a lay-over in your business trip (in the dingy bathroom of a nondescript airport with or without the benefit of a stall door knowing full well there will shortly be a fight with the TSA agent about changing his gloves before he touches\u2026and then SNIFFS!…your bodily fluids), then you do NOT need to be telling me about \u201cgetting\u201d to \u201cgive away\u201d my \u201cmotherhood responsibilities,” Homegirl !!!!!”<\/span><\/p>\n

It is NOT easy-breezy beautiful Covergirl over here.\u00a0 Trust me; the grass is NOT greener on this side.\u00a0 I mean that side.\u00a0 I mean whichever side.\u00a0 \u2018Cause I\u2019ve been on both sides – and I can even see them now from where I\u2019m sitting.\u00a0 Nope.\u00a0 Not greener.<\/span><\/p>\n

And the ONE thing missing in all of this back-and-forth??\u00a0 Is tennis team drills.\u00a0 It’s puzzling to me why no one has mentioned tennis team drills.\u00a0 How is everyone fitting THOSE in?\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking of which, I\u2019m off!\u00a0 Can you guess where I’m going?\u00a0\u00a0After all, I\u2019ve got things to do, places to go,\u00a0(tennis) balls to juggle!\u00a0 Instead of meeting me in the parking lot, meet me on the court.\u00a0 In your cutest skirt.\u00a0 And we’ll see who’s doing it all.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
