Remember how fun we are?\u00a0 We even started a movie theme this week.\u00a0 Fun movie-themers in the house\u00a0whoop, whoop<\/em>!<\/span><\/p>\n

Now, continuing with our theme–here\u2019s what I have to say about Star Trek after watching the 2009 remake with the kids a few days ago\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

Any and every Star Trek movie I have ever seen is sooooo annoying.\u00a0 I never, EVER know what\u2019s going on.\u00a0 It\u2019s like one big, never-ending math problem.\u00a0 And if you miss out on the ground-floor addition and subtraction, then you\u2019re totally hosed when it comes time to figure out how to beam people in from ships traveling at warp\u00a0or how much red matter to add to the black-hole-that-the-bad-guy-is-creating in order to make it go away.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Red matter?\u00a0 Really??\u00a0 REALLY?!?\u00a0 Suck it, Trekees. (Trekors?\u00a0 TrekDorks??)<\/span><\/p>\n

Have I made it clear?\u00a0\u00a0I HATE Star Trek movies.<\/span><\/p>\n

And that\u2019s even before they add the Spock-in-the-future component where he (Leonard Nemoy) comes back to talk to Spock-in-the-present-and-by-present-I-mean-still-distant-future-stardate-2250 (Zachary Quinto) to talk about the \u00dcber-future-star-date-a-million-light-years-from-now-who-cares.<\/span><\/p>\n

And?\u00a0 And this is where my head implodes into its own mini black hole because I.\u00a0 Hate.\u00a0 Star\u00a0Trek.\u00a0 Movies.\u00a0 And I hate YOU Spock.\u00a0 And I hate the fact that you hooked up with Lieutenant Nyota Uhura when she was young and firm and had a long, black ponytail.\u00a0 But in the 1960\u2019s future\/past?\u00a0 When you\u2019re all grown up??\u00a0 And our good lieutenant isn\u2019t so young and firm anymore and in fact has a bad, short haircut with big dippety-doo curls?\u00a0 Then you act like you barely even know her.\u00a0 Jerk star date now.<\/span><\/p>\n

But, I\u2019m not a TOTAL Trek Hater.\u00a0 And I CAN find the very few<\/span> good things in a Star Trek movie.\u00a0 For example, there\u2019s this one part where young James T. Kirk says, \u201cFire everything!\u00a0 Just\u2026fire whatever we have!!\u201d\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Yeah.\u00a0 What he said.\u00a0 Because I am totally on board with this approach.\u00a0 Just in general.\u00a0 Every day.\u00a0 Fire everything.\u00a0 Give \u2018em everything you got.\u00a0 Damn the torpedoes – full speed ahead!!!!<\/span><\/p>\n

And then there\u2019s that other great part.\u00a0 Where the movie is finally over.\u00a0 Yay!\u00a0 Love that part.\u00a0 And the voiceover says, \u201cSpace: The Final Frontier,\u201d and Sonny says, \u201cWait!\u00a0 I thought ALASKA was the final frontier.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Yep.\u00a0 That\u2019s my fave.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

And a word to the wise here:\u00a0That\u2019s the problem with calling ANYTHING the FINAL anything.\u00a0 There could always be one more final SOMETHING waiting in the wings.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

And ANOTHER word to the wise?\u00a0\u00a0Live long and prosper.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n
