The new stay at home mom <\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Was cleaning like a louse<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Ok.\u00a0\u00a0This is going nowhere fast.\u00a0\u00a0\u2018Cause what I really wanted to say was: Have you ever been at Thanksgiving dinner…and someone halfway down the table gets the brilliant idea that you should all go around the room and say what you\u2019re thankful for?\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Except by the time it comes around to you, everyone has already said what YOU were gonna say?!\u00a0\u00a0So then you just sound like an uncreative copycat.<\/span><\/p>\n

Well\u2026PRE-EMPTIVE STRIKE!!!<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019m gonna say what I\u2019m thankful for on Thanksgiving EVE and the rest of y\u2019ins* can eat my turkey dust!\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

NOWWWW who\u2019s the copycat?!?<\/span><\/p>\n

Here goes.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019m thankful for:<\/span><\/p>\n

My husband and my children.\u00a0 I could spend a hundred lifetimes trying to be worthy of the gifts you are to me.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

For my parents and my siblings and their families.\u00a0\u00a0I hope I am everything you need me to be.\u00a0 Thank you for everything you are to me.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

For my friends – new and old.\u00a0 You are such treasures to me.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

For everyone\u2019s continued happiness and health (because without health, it doesn\u2019t mean much).<\/span><\/p>\n

For the earthly gifts God has given me: a house, a car, warm clothing, a plentiful table.<\/span><\/p>\n

For the gifts of intelligence, creativity, humor and\u00a0strong faith.<\/span><\/p>\n

For a year\u2019s worth of unemployment compensation that let me do what I\u2019ve never been able to do as a wife and mother.\u00a0 Breathe.\u00a0 Just take a step out of the frantic, seemingly never-ending scramble.\u00a0 And breathe.<\/span><\/p>\n

That\u2019s it.\u00a0 That\u2019s all I got.\u00a0 P.S.\u00a0 Dear Santa, please bring me a job.<\/span><\/p>\n

*Did I ever tell you that Hubby and I lived in Central Pennsylvania for like ten years?\u00a0 And during that time we picked up certain phrases that still pop up in conversation – one of which is \u201cy\u2019ins\u201d.\u00a0 It\u2019s a contraction of the words \u2018you\u2019 and \u2018ones\u2019.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Spelled \u2018y\u2019ins\u2019 and pronounced YIHNS.\u00a0 (Hey –\u00a0it’s Central Pennsylvania!\u00a0 Just go with it<\/span>.\u00a0 It’s kinda like the Jersey Speak equivalent of\u00a0\u201cyouse guys.\u201d)\u00a0 In summation, youse guys can eat my turkey dust because I am thankful that I was thankful FIRST!\u00a0\u00a0Now I gotta get back to cleaning the house.\u00a0 Like a louse.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
