What\u2019s up with Pikachu?\u00a0 What is UP with Pikachu?!\u00a0 He\u2019s that cute little pink-cheeked Pok\u00e9mon and all he ever says is, “Pee-cuh.\u00a0 Peee-cuh. \u00a0Chew!\u00a0 Peee-cuh-chew!”<\/p>\n
Uh.\u00a0 Ok.\u00a0 Is that why they named him Pikachu?\u00a0 Which came first: the Pikachu, or the peee-cuh-chew?!<\/p>\n
Seriously.\u00a0 It\u2019s so annoying.\u00a0 He\u2019s gotta move on to something else.<\/p>\n
Why am I even on this topic?\u00a0 Because I was privy to a huge dose of peee-cuh-chew this past Saturday.\u00a0 At full blast.<\/p>\n
He sounds like a baby just learning to make complex sounds-which-aren\u2019t-quite-words.<\/p>\n
When my daughter was doing that, she sounded mostly Asian and once-in-a-while Latvian.\u00a0 When my son was doing it, he sounded like a bubble machine and there was a LOT of spit.<\/p>\n
Pikachu?\u00a0 Just sounds annoying.<\/p>\n
But Pikachu is not the first of his kind.\u00a0 Remember that cartoon from the 80\u2019s?\u00a0 (Hey!\u00a0 I\u2019m flexible.\u00a0 I can talk 80\u2019s cartoons OR songs.\u00a0 Today it\u2019s cartoons.)\u00a0 It was called Thundercats.\u00a0 (Thundercats, HO!!!)\u00a0\u00a0There\u00a0were human-ified lions and tigers in that show.\u00a0 They talked like people.\u00a0 But they had spotted\/striped hair and weird cat eyes.\u00a0 And of course, cat powers.\u00a0 They also had a pet…cat.\u00a0 How wacky is that?!?\u00a0 But\u00a0all the cat\u00a0ever said was, \u201cSnarf.\u00a0 Snarf.\u201d\u00a0 So his name was Snarf.<\/p>\n
This cartoon-y named-after-the-sound-you-make theme I\u2019ve identified\u00a0makes\u00a0me wonder if I\u2019m STILL a stay at home mom because I SOUND like a stay at home mom?!?<\/p>\n
Hmmm\u2026what\u00a0does a stay at home mom sound like?<\/p>\n
I CAN\u2019T STAND DOING ANYMORE DISHES.\u00a0 I\u2019M NOT DOING ANOTHER DISH.\u00a0 IF YOU MAKE THAT DISH DIRTY, YOU CLEAN THAT DISH!!!<\/p>\n
