You have to know I’m lying here, right?\u00a0 I can’t STAND the time-suck that these sports are.\u00a0 Nor can I stand the useless conversations they engender.\u00a0 Case in point?\u00a0\u00a0Sunday’s conversation with Hubby during the Bronco’s game…<\/em><\/p>\n Me: \u201cOk, now we\u2019re jumping over to baseball?\u00a0 Why is baseball still going on?!\u00a0 I thought they were called the Boys of SUMMER??\u00a0 It\u2019s October!\u00a0 WRAP. IT. UP!\u00a0 Didn\u2019t they have the World Series already??\u201d<\/p>\n Hubby:\u00a0 \u201cNope.\u201d<\/p>\n Me:\u00a0 “Now we\u2019re back to football.\u00a0 When sports overlap like this, they need to cut someone\u2019s season short.\u00a0 And that\u2019s ridiculous!\u00a0 They just called him for unnecessary roughness?!\u00a0 That’s a total joke.\u00a0 The entire THING is unnecessary.\u00a0 And rough.”<\/p>\n Hubby: “You know Sonny got called for unnecessary roughness during his football game Saturday?”<\/p>\n Me: “No.\u00a0 I didn’t know that.\u00a0 Is that when he was standing there and the kid ran into him and bounced off?”<\/p>\n Hubby: “Yep.\u00a0 But that was a ticky-tack call anyway.”<\/p>\n Me: \u00a0“Ticky?\u00a0 Tack?!\u00a0 Is that an actual phrase?\u00a0 Is that an actual phrase sanctioned by football people?”<\/p>\n Hubby:\u00a0“Yep.\u00a0 It means ‘tacky’ or ‘cheesy’.”<\/p>\n Me:\u00a0“Ok, why not just SAY ‘cheesy’??\u00a0 This is what I HATE about football.\u00a0 It’s so in the weeds with the nonsensical minutiae about rules.\u00a0 And?\u00a0 It has its own LEXICON*!\u00a0 Ticky-tack?!\u00a0\u00a0So annoying.”<\/p>\n […lower your sperm count.\u00a0 Other complications include enlarged or painful breasts.\u00a0 Problems breathing while you sleep.\u00a0 Blood clots in your legs.\u00a0 Axiron is flammable until dry.\u00a0 Let Axiron dry before smoking or going near an open flame…<\/em>]<\/p>\n Hubby: “Good Lord!\u00a0 What is THAT for??\u00a0 Low T?!?\u00a0 What a fad.\u00a0 Why would you take something that’s WORSE than the fad?”<\/p>\n Oh.\u00a0 And also the commercials.\u00a0 This is my favorite time of year because you can watch baseball, football AND horrific man-specific commercials all Sunday long.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n *Yes, I actually\u00a0say words like ‘lexicon’ during casual\u00a0conversation.\u00a0 Don’t you?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" This is my favorite time of year…where you can watch BOTH\u00a0baseball AND football games all Sunday long.\u00a0 Yippee!!!
